1st annual CLF gathering at The Mountain
Aug 29 - Sep 1, 2003

The UU retreat called The Mountain, near Highlands, NC is a beautiful place. Here is a picture of the Lodge where some of us stayed (others stayed in the cabins), and a picture of the Lodge deck. These were scanned from postcards I purchased there (obviously taken in the fall)

There is a big granite rock that overlooks an awe inspiring vista. It is called "Meditation Rock". What a wonderful place to watch the sun rise!

One of the staff from The Mountain took us on a nature walk.

We also had a "Church of the Larger Talent Show". What fun!

One evening we played a mystery game. I don't think we ever did figure out "whodunit" until the game was over! (That's me in the middle in the first picture)

On Saturday afternoon several of us went on a van trip to Dry Falls. Dry Falls isn't very dry, there's lots of water falling over it. I think it got it's name because you can walk behind the falls and stay dry (well... mostly dry).
